Camp Partnerships

Head Start Basketball partners with college and high coaches to bring high-quality youth basketball camps to their campuses and communities. Founded in 1993 in Cleveland, Ohio, our camps are designed for boys and girls entering grades 1–6 and are typically held during June or July. Each camp runs for five consecutive days, with three hours of instruction per day, using a proven format that emphasizes skill development, competition, teamwork, and fun.

Our partnership model allows coaches to focus on what they do best, working with players. A coach or member of the program’s staff serves as Camp Director, leads the on-court instruction, and follows the established Head Start Basketball camp format. Head Start Basketball handles the behind-the-scenes responsibilities, including online registration, website setup, marketing, parent communication, T-shirts, trophies, and administrative support.

Camp profits are divided equally between the host coach or athletic program and Head Start Basketball. This creates an opportunity for programs to generate additional revenue without taking on the time consuming administrative work normally associated with organizing and operating a camp.

A Head Start Basketball Camp can also complement a program’s existing summer camps. Because our camps serve younger players, they give coaches an opportunity to introduce their program to new families, build stronger connections within the community, and develop relationships with children who may attend the program’s camps or become part of its basketball pipeline in the future.

By partnering with Head Start Basketball, coaches receive an established camp structure, comprehensive administrative support, an additional source of program revenue, and a valuable way to connect with the next generation of players in their community.
